The Amelia Evans Quartet seeks to combine vocal jazz artistry and improvisation with timeless jazz standards, original works and songs from the Australian Jazz canon. Award- winning jazz vocalist Amelia Evans is one of Melbourne’s rising stars. With a love for storytelling via improvisation, Amelia is recognised for her breathtaking vocal virtuosity and ability to capture an audience with her authenticity and honesty. A finalist in the 2020 Wangaratta Festival of Jazz & Blues National Jazz Awards, Amelia has performed with the likes of Terri-Lyne Carrington, James Morrison and Linda Oh, collaborated with pianist Bob Sedergreen on her debut album The First Song, and won a score of awards, including the 2017 Generations In Jazz Vocal Scholarship. In recent years, Amelia has firmly established herself as a versatile vocalist and bandleader in the Melbourne jazz scene, with her quartet and ensemble The Radiohead Project performing at iconic venues and festivals such as the Melbourne Recital Centre, Hamer Hall and the Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival.
