The Story
Local chromatic harmonica player Chris Maunders leads his new band Viper's Dream Swing Team, celebrating the few recordings that Django Reinhardt and Larry Adler joined forces on in 1938. Maunders has become one of few in the country to have developed a distinctive style on the chromatic harmonica.
Listen to the unique blend of horns as Nic Ryan-Glenie and Maunders duck and weave around soaring melodies of the Manouche and traditional jazz idiom, backed by a hard swinging rhythm section made up of Peter Baylor, Nathan Liow, Tom Flenady and Ben Hendry.
