The Story

Polito: a crimson audio-visual landscape. Electronic composition and bodily practice conspire to display a mesmerising audiovisual landscape in this invigorating performance event. Polito x Visual Display is a collaboration between electronic music duo Robert Downie and Finnian Langham (Polito) and performers Arabella Frahn-Starkie and Hillary Goldsmith (Visual Display). Both parties engage with improvisational scores, responding to each other and their varied surroundings.

One of the aims of this collaboration is to diversify and expand how you, the audience, can experience dance and music. Through physical engagement with rhythmic music, time is subdivided into instances which are collectively experienced. At the heart of crafting live performance is creating space for human connection, and facilitating shared experiences which can transcend language and culture.

Featuring two girls and a pop song // two girls and a pop song are perhaps two grls and a pop song. gender defined and undefined they deconstruct pop culture references through a conceptual lens. Presenting clashing scenes of melodrama, celebrity iconoclasm and undercutting the hyper sexualisation of the body. They present and untangle a representation of "girl" in all their glory. They are pink vomit and sticky tears. Two GRLS have been making high quality low fi virtual and live chaos since 2015. Oonagh and Rachael are Two Girls !¿ and a pop song.
