The Story

“Josh Kyle’s unfailingly beautiful tone, crystal clear articulation and superfine phrasing announces a singer with a real jazz sensibility” JAZZWISE

Described by Jazz Australia as “the most exciting male jazz singer Australia has produced since Vince Jones”, Kyle’s voice has been a pivotal force in Australian jazz since returning from the UK in 2009.

Creative vocalist Josh Kyle’s varied approach to music-making has seen him involved with many different musical experiences and settings. He has released four albums under his own name “Possibilities” (2010) “Songs of Friends” (2014), a duo collaboration with Sam Keevers. “I Hear, Here I” (2018) a suite of music for two electric guitars, drums and voice, with Stephen Magnussan, Hugh Stuckey and Joe Talia and finally “Trombone Song Cycle” (2018) an hour long recording of music for four trombones and voice, with compositions by Kyle and arrangements by Andrew Murray.
