Careless is a funny, heartfelt and fiercely political documentary about growing old in Australia, and what happens when aged care is handed over to big business. Told through the stories of older Australians determined to stay at home, and narrated by children trying to make sense of the mess. The film reveals how decades of bipartisan political failures have left a broken system, many say is worse even after the Royal Commission. Blending intimate interviews with humour, dramatised sequences and sharp political critique, CARELESS is a powerful call to action for a fairer, more human future for ageing in Australia.
