Singin' in the Rain – Screening for David

We're honouring the life and work of the beloved film critic, writer and educator David Stratton by screening his favourite film, Singin' in the Rain.

David was a giant in the Australian film industry and a champion for filmmakers at home and abroad. As the co-host of The Movie Show and At the Movies with Margaret Pomeranz, he engaged the Australian public in film discourse; as the director of the Sydney Film Festival from 1966 to 1983, he enriched the local film scene and connected Australia to the world; as an author, advocate and educator, he championed film history and fought against censorship.
