Classic Cinemas

We are proud to once again take part in the Glen Eira Storytelling Festival.

Big Night In - Tuesday 25 June

Big Night In is a showcase of Melbourne’s wonderfully hilarious and diverse comedy scene. We’re piling our plates with diversity and inclusivity, fresh from the local market. If you’re sick of watching the watery porridge equivalent of comedy, check out the new, the rising, the awkward and always hilarious — Big Night In.

Wheelchair access. Enter through the Classic Cinema foyer and take the elevator to level one.

Talkbox - Tuesday July 2

Talkbox showcases the weirdest spoken-word performances on the Southside. We’re stretching the limits of the spoken-word genre — we welcome poetry, art statements, essays, monologues and dialogues. Talkboxprovides a platform for emerging poets to perform their original work. We’re especially interested in the perspectives of young creatives, new writers, people of colour, queer folk, and people with disabilities.

In March 2018, the Classic Cinema celebrated the opening of four cinema auditoriums taking the historical site to a total of 10 screens.
