Over a decade in the making, Luke Holland’s documentary Final Account explores how a generation of children were indoctrinated into a culture of hatred and genocide through never-before-seen and shocking interviews among those who grew up in Nazi Germany.

Both thought provoking and emotionally impactful, Final Account is an urgent reminder that those who ignore history are doomed to repeat its mistakes.

Sadly, Luke Holland, the filmmaker, died three months before the premiere of Final Account at the Venice Film Festival in 2020.

“★★★★ A simple, unadorned study of everyday evil… shows how a hundred shades of grey combine to make a darkness.” – The Guardian

“★★★★ Holland proves a skilled inquisitor and eventually forces uncomfortable truths out of his subjects.” – The Times

"★★★★...a monumental achievement, an implacable and revealing record of the corruption of a generation." — Paul Byrnes, The Sydney Morning Herald

“Sobering.” – The Hollywood Reporter

“An essential document.” – Cineuropa

Final Account is co-presented by the Jewish International Film Festival, and screens exclusively at Classic and Lido from June 11.
