The Story

After being a concert pianist for more than 15 years, graduating from one of the prestige music universities in Russia; Gnessin Russian Academy of Music Anna, at the peak of her successful career, is moving to Melbourne to follow her passion for jazz singing.

This passion leads her to complete a second degree in Contemporary Performance at Australian Institute of Music. A transition from classical music to jazz changed her perspective on music and opened a whole new world of sounds.

Anna’s musical style incorporates a broad music experience in jazz, funk, soul and is influenced by the music of Nina Simone, Carmen McRae, Chaka Khan, Lalah Hathaway, Gregory Porter, Esperanza Spalding, and many others.

Anna shares her love for improvisation and vocal freedom with the audience. At the moment she is working on her album and recently recorded and released an EP “Angel Eyes” with her quartet.
