The Story

Lili and Mateo are a mother and son with a relationship of profound dependence. They live comfortably in their stifling reality until one of the duo is diagnosed with a fatal disease. The mere thought of separation evaporates the last remnants of their sanity.

Behind its baby pink aesthetic and methodical composition is arguably one of the most downright insane films of the year, from one of the most exciting voices in the new wave of extreme cinema. Harkening back to the works of John Waters and David Lynch, Piety is a funny, campy, deeply unhinged vision of a mother-son relationship that redefines mommy issues.
