“The idea of this film was to make something that’s terrifically entertaining from start to finish, but with a thumping big emotional heart.” – Harry Sinclair, writer and director
With gentle humour and a big-hearted sense of discovery, this feature-length musical for young audiences and families is a prequel to the BAFTA-nominated, internationally acclaimed animated Kiri and Lou series.
When Lou, a gentle purple creature with an embarrassingly stretchy trunk, rescues Kiri, an ungrateful little dinosaur, from a flood, they’re swept into the greatest adventure in prehistory! They hurtle down a rushing river, cross the ocean, travel inside a giant sea creature, and outrun an erupting volcano — discovering you can find friendship in the wildest places.
Animation director Antony Elworthy (Pinocchio, Isle of Dogs, Coraline), heads an international team of leading stop-motion animators for this production, with a voice cast that includes Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords, What We Do in the Shadows) and Olivia Tennet (Power Rangers, The Lord of the Rings).
