On 19 February, the earth will shake and tremble as we open the 2026 edition of Europa! Europa with the Australian premiere of The Testament of Ann Lee.
Directed by Norwegian filmmaker Mona Fastvold (co-writer of The Brutalist), set across 18th-century England and America, and with principal photography taking place in Budapest, this historical musical fable tells the extraordinary true legend of Ann Lee, founder of the devotional sect know as the Shakers.
Academy Award nominee Amanda Seyfried stars as the Shakers’ irrepressible leader who preached gender and social equality and was revered by her followers.
