Former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Ford (Dwayne Johnson) has the job of assessing the safety and security for the world's tallest buildings.While on assignment in China, he's invited to stay at The Pearl, a 240-floor building with his wife (Neve Campbell) and children, to assess the safety of the luxurious skyscraper. As he attends a meeting to give his findings, a fire is set on the 96th floor, trapping his family. When he goes to save them, he's captured and the lives of his wife and kids are threatened. Will has to get free, find out why this is happening and figure out how to rescue his loved ones.
