The Beguiled Members Screening at Classic

"A lurid, sweltering, and sensationally fun potboiler." - Indiewire

The Beguiled Members Screening
Sunday 9 July, 4pm

The Beguiled is the heady Southern gothic tale that has critics buzzing, and won Sofia Coppola the Best Director award at Cannes this year (the second woman to do so in the festival’s entire 70-year history).

We’re pacing with anticipation to show it to our audiences, so we’re offering our loyal Classic Members a special advance screening of the film on Sunday 9 July at 4pm.

Based on Thomas P. Cullinan’s 1966 novel of the same name, The Beguiled takes us to an isolated girls’ school in Virginia during the Civil War. When a seriously injured Union soldier is discovered on the outskirts of the property, his presence as the only male the school has encountered in a long time interrupts the prim and proper daily order of the place.

Sexual tensions and double entendres abound, and soon jealousies start forming amongst the women. However, Coppola flips male fantasy on its head, taking this steamy period piece in completely unexpected directions.

It stars Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Elle Fanning, and Colin Farrell.

More event details to come soon.

Tickets are on sale now. Adult members: $16 / Student members: $11.50.
